My Special Rock

My Special Rock

When I was about eight years old, our family took a trip from our home in Des Moines, Iowa to the Wisconsin Dells. The time was about mid-1930s.

As I remember it there were tourist cabins and a boat trip on the river to see the rock formations. Quite a huge difference from what it is now as I write this in 2017.

At sometime on this trip I found this wonderful red rock. It has been on my desk ever since. Today it is marking the date on my daily event calendar.

The rock has never changed. It is exactly how it was the first day I picked it up. Think how the Dells have changed. Think how I have changed. Think how the world has changed!
